What is Resident Withholding Tax (RWT)?

The payer of interest or dividends is required to withhold tax from payments to you. This is called resident withholding tax (RWT) for interest payments, and dividend withholding tax (DWT) for dividend payments. Your fund manager will deduct RWT and DWT from your interest and dividend before they pay you.
